About Geneviève Gros-Louis 

Geneviève Gros-Louis, an esteemed violinist, film composer, and producer from the Huron-Wendat Nation, has garnered international recognition for her impactful artistic contributions to the film, music, and fashion industries. In facing the aftermath of childhood trauma, Gros-Louis  (formerly Salamone​) courageously utilizes her artistic platform to shed light on crucial matters surrounding mental health, the plight of women enduring sexual violence, and the pressing challenges faced by Indigenous communities. Geneviève's awe-inspiring interdisciplinary performances and collaborations are a testament to her ability to weave intricate narratives through her multifaceted artistry, musical mastery, and storytelling.

Holding a Bachelor's degree in violin performance from Montréal's prestigious McGill University, Geneviève captivates audiences with her exceptional musical compositions and enthralling performances. A proud member of the First Nations community from Wendake, Québec, Gros-Louis remains steadfast in her mission to foster cultural understanding and appreciation through the power of music and art.

Geneviève's talents have led her to grace illustrious events such as the Cannes Film Festival for an event preluding the premiere of Martin Scorsese's film Killers of the Flower MoonParis Fashion Week; and Sante Fe Indian Market. Additionally, her impactful work has been featured in museums such as the Washington State History Museum, Anchorage Museum, and Des Moines Art Center.

Geneviève Gros-Louis is a prolific composer, crafting impactful scores for film and television from her prestigious Wendat Records studio. Notably, she recently composed the score for season 3 of National Geographic's Life Below Zero: First Alaskans.
